Every child, regard­less of income, race, or region deserves access to books in their home. We know that hav­ing age-appro­pri­ate books at home is the sin­gle great­est pre­dic­tor of aca­d­e­m­ic suc­cess. (Edu­ca­tion World)

How­ev­er, 61% of low income Min­nesotan chil­dren are going to bed with­out a book to read at night because of lack of trans­porta­tion and funds. (Read­ing Lit­er­a­cy in the Unit­ed States)

A Book of My Own sup­ports Min­neso­ta fam­i­lies by ship­ping high qual­i­ty books, tai­lored to the chil­dren’s inter­ests, direct­ly to their res­i­dences com­plete­ly free of charge.
